Description
With just five simple ingredients, this Mixed Berry Smoothie has the perfect balance of a sorbet like texture and refreshingly bold berry flavor. A perfect summertime treat morning or night!
Ingredients
Ingredients for prepping the pre-measured smoothie bags:
48 ounce bag of frozen Blueberries
48 ounce bag of frozen sliced Strawberries
2 10-12 ounce bags frozen Raspberries (whichever your store carries)
2 16 ounce bags frozen Blackberries
Ingredients for making your Mixed Berry Smoothie
1 pre-measured bag containing 2 cups of mixed berries
6 ounces Pineapple Juice (see notes)
Instructions
Instructions for meal prepping your pre-measured smoothie bags:
- Pour all of the berries into a very large mixing bowl and use a large spoon to combine them.
- Measure out 2 cups of the berry mix into individual ziplock bags and seal tightly, removing as much air as possible. Work quickly so the fruit doesn't start to thaw. Having a helper makes this fun! You should end up with about 16 two cup portions.
- Store all of the bags in the freezer for up to 3 months until ready to use.
To make a smoothie from your prepped bags:
- Add the contents of one pre-measured bag (2 cups) of frozen mixed berries to a high speed blender.
- Pour in 6 ounces of Pineapple juice and blend on high until smooth. Enjoy!
Not into all the prep and want just one smoothie right now?
- Add ½ cup each frozen Strawberries (whole or sliced), Blueberries, Blackberries, and Raspberries to your high speed blender.
- Pour 6 to 8 ounces Pineapple or Orange Juice in with your berries.
- Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Pour, sip, and smile - no prep required!
Notes
This recipe is written for prepping multiple smoothies at once, but single-serving instructions are also included above so you can enjoy one anytime!
Juice: Pineapple juice is sold in packs of six 6 ounce cans making them perfect for this recipe. Feel free to experiment with other juices too, such as Orange juice, apple juice, or even coconut water.
Blender: This recipe works best with a high speed blender. If your blender has any difficulty simply add an ounce or two of additional juice or water to help it get going.
Make it your own: You can customize this recipe by adding bananas, mangoes, or even spinach for an extra boost of nutrients or a dollop of nut butter for added protein
